In Freds session we started to produce grid layouts and thumbnails, We started off with a story from a magazine, then highlighted the different sections to the magazine, I looked at the different sections and highlighted each. Below is the sketch I created:
I then created some thumbnails to show a different way to represent this information, these thumbnails are in the scale 5"7. It shows the different aspects of the page and how i can alter the sections to create different parts of the design.
I created this scale above to get the correct ratios, and below are the layouts I created for my 5- double page spreads.
I created these designs to have some layouts for my design, I will now increase the size of this and refine to make the scale and sizing more accurate.
This was the scale I would be working to, It is much larger and the details on the page would be accurate to the layout that would be on screen. I will be using this A5 sized pages as the format as I believe the information will fill this however any bigger would be too large to use.
I started off by sketching up the different thumbnails and picked my favourite designs, I decided to mock these up bigger to see if they would work as a whole
After mocking them up I managed to set the measurements up and got the design on a larger scale, the scale I wanted my design to take place like, Below are the pictures of the different layouts I produced.
I then took these drawings on tracing paper and then applied it to in design to see how these designs would look on screen.
After creating these templates, I believe these will be good layouts for the amount of information on the page, I could possible have a header with a different coloured section with the title of the page and a brief section about the rest of the page, it would split up the page and then lead into the page sections.
