Logo requirements (Study Task 3)

Colour
The 2 colours picked were to represent the aspect of liquid, so the idea of water is clearly visible, in addition, I wanted to make the logo hide in the design, this is to make sure all significance and attention is given to the exhibition and the photography within. Having the logo present but making sure attention to everything else was a way of making the photography the main aspect, I picked the pale blue to stay distant from the dark textured blues that are in the photography pieces.

Typeface

I picked this typeface to represent the flowing and flowing feeling that was given off with the original flyer that was designed. I wanted to incorporate this style of design into my work to relate to how the previous material was designed. The type informs the viewer what the logo is for and that it is an exhibition.
The typeface is Existence Light which gives the design a flowing, soft aesthetic to represent the female form (one of the genres the photographs display in the exhibition).

Reproducibility/Adaptability

As I am designing for an exhibition, It will be designed for one night and then future items from the night. As she will not put this exhibition on again, the logo won't be used and becomes difficult to reuse as the theme of the next exhibition will be completely different, which means a whole new logo would have to be created for the design.

I would like to email the Aldara and find out if she is planning any future exhibitions so I can create a set of logos that would link exhibitions together but brand each individual exhibition.

Client Needs

"Liquid Project is an underwater photography exhibition that captures the interplay between water, light, shadows and the female form. Also, the freedom and joy that I experience while submerged in it."

The main needs were explained in the first paragraph on kickstarter, the logo uses aspects from the exhibition so people get an understanding to the sort of imagery that will be in the exhibition.

Communication

Communication will be kept to email or facebook, the exhibition has a page on facebook which would allow contact for messaging.
