When completing my design boards for this module, I found my organisation was stopping me producing my work as efficiently as possible. For future modules, I will definitely be making sure I label all my work, put it into correct folders and have an organised workspace as it will make the workflow a lot smoother.
I have are a few things that I have realised I need to improve on for future modules from the different stages in this module.
For future printings, I would like to print on varied stocks and experiment with my practical outcomes as I believe It would improve my designs a lot more by considering the stock in the initial ideas process, instead of leaving the stock decision until last minute, I will consider it before my final ideas in order to have experimentation and an interesting use of stock. Another aspect when printing instead of stock will be the use of different printing finishes, after putting research into different print finishes and seeing the range of outcomes that can be created from choosing a different finish, I would like to use a range of print finishes in future modules.
Another aspect of my work I would like to experiment with more is the use of colour. I would like to use and work with colour more, as I believe my colour use can be improved as I used blue far too much in my projects, so I would like to experiment with more interesting colour schemes. I will be able to put this into practice picking the pantone brief for my responsive. This gives me opportunity to work with colours, and produce more interesting designs that use a range of colours within the designs.
I would like to produce more initial idea sketches that are cleaner and more varied ideas. I found out that my initial ideas could be improved as they are quite scruffy and don't represent the clean aesthetic i am trying to portray.
These are just improvements that I have picked up on when completing the module, and completing each individual brief has made me understand these certain aspects of my work process can be improved on.

Studio Brief 01 - "My Design Process"
When first receiving this brief I struggled to get any ideas, we were creating a leaflet, using our own design process, about design process. I found it difficult to put my design process into writing, and actually explain how I produce work and the steps I take to producing a final design.
After producing A3 sheets with different steps to my production, it became easy to separate my work method into 4 different categories. This made it easier to understand the amount of space needed for my design, how many folds it should have to include the different sections and start forming initial ideas.
I printed my design in digital print which cost £3.00 for an A2 Print. The stock was white and I actually printed the background colour of the leaflet onto the white stock. This caused problems when cutting the sections of the leaflet away as the design ripped and the die cutter ended up tearing the paper slightly causing some of the ink to rip away, leaving the design to look tacky and completely unprofessional. I should have considered stock and the colour scheme before as I ended up completing my design with a colour scheme I liked, I had no way of changing it as the brief was a week long. If I was to do this brief again I would definitely experiment printing with with stock and using the die cutter to see which worked best with inks and cutting from the paper.
One problem I discovered when designing was keeping alignment and making sure the folds and the design work together when folded. I found it quite difficult to match up, and make sure that each section worked with the previous one using the fold lines. The easiest way I found to make sure everything was matched up was folding the leaflet to the final design then measuring the design, then taking these measurements then applying them to my design on illustrator to make sure what I wanted, was designed on screen. This worked quite well however I believe that actually scanning in my mock up would have allowed a more accurate way of doing this, but I will try this in a new project to see if it makes a difference.
If I had more time on this brief I would have experimented with finishes, and different print methods to give my leaflet more stability and produce something that would last. However this would end up costing the design a lot more and end up taking a lot of time to experiment, and as the brief was a week long, I kept it as improved as I could for the time frame.
I like the design I produced, It includes different aspects of my design process and reflects my work process well. the design works both folded, and when flattened to give a 5 sectioned piece that draws people in. The design leads your eyes round each section before getting to the middle of the design. Therefore sticking to the concept of getting from A-B without any distractions.

Studio Brief 02 - "Logostarter"
Logo Starter was an interesting brief for me as this was the first real experiment with logodesign. I found it interesting producing the sketches for logos and began to realise that logo design has so many aspects to consider. Getting the whole ethos of a company into a logo becomes quite difficult. In addition, the brief was only a week long so it promoted quick and fast sketch ideas and maintained a high workload to finish in time for the deadline.
If I had more time for this brief, I would have enjoyed to experiment further with my sketches and take the design further. I believe the logo suits the style of the exhibition however it still believe the logo could have been pushed further and be made more relevant to the exhibition.
I found this brief exciting as I have never produced a logo and found that if I am given enough time to experiment with my work I enjoy the process of making a logo, as challenging as it is to produce a successful logo, I find that challenge inspiring.

Studio Brief 03 - "A brief history of...website"
When creating my website I was excited to start and improve the skills that I have already gained from previous experiences. I was motivated to create a working website and produce the development work which would then lead to producing the website. I found that it was more confusing than first seemed.
I had problems working the placement of the logo on the first page. The alignment was off and I could see no actual problem with the code. This was because of my actual coding, and not understanding what the error was present, and as the studio sessions for the coding were canceled I found it hard to look into this without assistance. However after solving this problem and completing the website homepage. it now works as a responsive website, as reducing the page size keeps the content central and always in the middle of the users webpage.
I would like to produce another website for a brief as I haven't really experienced the testing of the whole website production and actually completing the full website. I understand it will be difficult but having some experience will allow me to work on it and see where the work ends up.
I didn't really enjoy this brief after the initial sketches and production of the work as the work just didn't excite me as it did at the start. I found myself hating the various designs I had produce and after looking at my design as a whole I believe there are many aspects to improve on. Such as the web page designs as some are quite boring and simple so people could get bored of the website.
Studio Brief 04 - "Augmented Design"
The augmented brief allowed me to experiment with more interactive aspects of design, creating something that works with an aspect of my website, and producing something the public will interact with and cause much more interest. I like the freedom brief gives to allow research into interactive design, and the actual production of interactive design.
I found it quite difficult to link interactive elements with my chosen subject. I couldn't have any form of advertising in store as my website was all about saving money and going against supermarkets, so advertising would be outside the store. I found it quite difficult to think about all 3 augmented designs as I really wanted to make sure the designs fit and advertised the website.
I feel like my augmented designs were quite rushed and needed more time to work on the concept. I am pleased with my reciept printer design, however the other 2 designs don't have interactivity aspects as good as the receipt generator. This isn't necessarily a bad thing for a larger company, but as my website is new, it needs the strongest advertising methods to increase the viewing numbers on my website.
